The Diocesan legal officer for the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio says there is no right without obligations.

Fr Thomas Bagbiowia calls on the community to remember the rights of a child in anything they do to be responsible in the future, Anisa Radio reports.

The duty of parents is to take care of children because a child has the right to live a dignified life, he explains.

Fr Bagbiowia says every child is to work for the cohesion of the family and respect his or her parents, guardians, elders and assist them.

He stresses that parents’ duty is to discipline their children in so many ways in accordance with their age.

The Coordinator advises parents to work for the welfare of their kids by promoting them in all aspects of life.

The priest was speaking to Anisa Radio on Wednesday in Yambio.
