Yei River State Assembly has on Monday discussed a motion on the non-governmental organization operating in the state.

According to the motion the organizations are not complying with policies of the state because they were registered in Juba.

Lokoroto Daniel Arama, who raised the motion, says that the government is to direct the NGOs on what to do rather than the NGOs directing the government.

He adds that the August House recommended that the NGOs submit their work plan and work budgets to the state government.

Lokoroto mentions that if the issue is not addressed then it will have a disappointing result.

According to the NGO Act, agencies are accountable to beneficiaries, donors and relevant public institutions responsible for deliverying services in the area.
