Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Torit is appealing to South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit and armed opposition leader Dr Riak Machar Teny to reconcile.

Monsignor Thomas Oliha Atiyah believes that it is through reconciliation that the country can experience peace.

Monsignor Oliha calls on citizens of Torit State to embrace the spirit of sharing, supporting and caring to have peaceful families.

Robbery is violence, so any violence done to my brother, to my sister is violence and we reject it. So we reject it altogether, says the Apostolic Administrator.

He calls on those involved in the practice to refrain and allow free movement of citizens.

Monsignor Oliha was speaking during the one-day of prayer for peace in South Sudan organized by Inter-faith groups in Torit State on Friday.
