The Commissioner of Ngab-Agok County of Tonj state on Friday says they were able to return over 100 head of cattle to their right owners in the neighboring Jalwau County.
Madook Madhieu Chol confirms to Don Bosco Radio that the handing over was witnessed by the two commissioners of Jal-Wau and Ngab-Agok including the executive chiefs.
He accuses raiders from Thiik of being engaged in looting cattle around the area. He says security organs are still searching for the missing ones.
Commissioner Madhieu admits that spread of fire arms in the hands of civilians is the main cause of insecurity in the region.
Madhieu mentioned that more than 500 heads of cattle were looted by criminals from the neighboring Gok state in February.
He appeals to local youth in the area to engage in agricultural activities than wasting time in cattle raiding.
Commissioner Madhieu says farming is the only way to fight hunger in the county and the state at large.
