The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio on Saturday launched a local game known as Boruboru, which attracted 10 primary schools in Gbudue State.

Boruboru is a traditional game commonly played by girls in some parts of South Sudan.

Manager for Culture Youth and Sport in the Diocese, Sylvester Ruati says the diocese aims at reinstating and promoting cultural games that are almost disappearing.

He adds that the cultural activity will remind girls about its importance for body fitness.

The Manager urges parents to encourage their children to learn positive activities rather than adopting behaviours that can spoil them.

Ruati says qualified schools for the final tournament are expected to play on Easter Monday at Gbudue Stadium and the first and second winners will be awarded with prices.
