Government owes over three billion pounds from ten companies

The Commissioner General of South Sudan National Revenue Authority says the government owes over billion of South Sudanese pounds from ten private companies.

Olympio Attipo told Journalists in Juba on Wednesday that companies have failed to submit their auditory accounts for the authority to determine the taxes. Bakhita Radio reports.

He adds that even though most of the tax payers use self-assessment tax system, ten of these companies’ report indicates over three billion SSP that they owe the government.

Attipo says they will work with the relevant authorities to make sure that tax payers comply with the collection system.

Attipo did not reveal the names of the companies that fail to comply with the tax calls.
