Lutheran Bishop calls on Christians to pray for refugees in Uganda

Pray for refugees in Uganda during the Lenten period, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Sudan and Sudan calls on Christians.
 
Bishop Peter Anibati Abia says refugees in northern Uganda are living in a very difficult situation in need more assistance.
 
Last week bishops of Lutheran Church in South Sudan and some African countries met partners in Kampala to discuss strategies on how the church can intervene to help South Sudanese refugees in northern Uganda.
 
The Bishop mentions that church leaders agreed to look for partners who will help the refugees to access education in camps and feed them with the word of God.
 
He says despites the situation in South Sudan the gospel is on progress and Lutheran Church is working hard to ensure that it preaches up to the end of the world.
 
The church has also started with the construction of orphanages and establishment of internet center and seminary where they are training twelve young men now.
 
The bishop admits that insecurity has affected many developmental activities in the country as donors are unable to come back.
 
He calls on Christians to pray for peace and stability in the country to enable development take root.
 
The bishop was speaking to Radio Anisa on Monday in Yambio.
