Civil society urges government to develop transitional policy for justice

A civil society group is asking the government to develop a transitional justice mechanism to help in the implementation of the 2015 peace agreement.
 
Executive Director of Foundation for Democracy and Accountable Governance, FODAC, Jame David Kolok, says the policy will assist the government to establish a commission for truth, reconciliation and healing in accordance with the agreement.
 
Executive Director of the Dialogue and Research Initiative, Gordon Lam, stresses that justice and accountability will promote peace and reconciliation in the country.
 
The officials spoke during a one –day forum about Transitional Justice and peace in Juba on Wednesday.
 
It was organized by the transitional justice working group, an alliance of civil society organizations.
