Lopa County Acting Commissioner of Imatong state has said that farmers in his county are concern over the improper selection of seeds distributed to them last year.

Sarafino Okello Garasiano says most farmers in the area are willing to plant short term crop varieties. But the situation last year hindered their agricultural production.

This is according to Radio Emmanuel.

Okello, says most farms in the area dried up due to the late distribution of seeds.

The official says the government is working hard to provide tractors to the local famers but says the tractors lack hoes.

He added that Arc for Humanity organization is ready to support farmer groups with fuel for tractors to plough their farms.

Okello urges farmers to plant crops that are of short term varieties in the coming rainy season so as to reduce hunger in the state.
