The Parish Priest of St Francis of Assisi Nimule says the schools in the far western deanery have performed better amidst challenges they are facing.

Fr John Sebit talked to Emmanuel Radio about the issue of no support to the schools.

‘St Bakitah nursery school performed the best among the nursery schools and in their joint examination. Teachers do cooperate because there is no assistance from Caritas and some primary schools have also good performance. It has got best records in primary schools in Nimule”.

He also calls for external support to increase performance.

Fr John highlights insecurity and delay of salary as the major challenges affecting the area.

‘The school also support teachers by giving them motivation as salary because the government money comes very slowly sometimes three, four, five months no salary. Some teachers abandon teaching. Then the challenge is the insecurity. , it limits us. and people  are arrested’.

The Parish priest made the remarks during the Annual Diocesan meeting in Torit last week.
