Authorities in Terekeka state have denied media reports that some 22 people were killed during a cattle raid in the village of Tindilo on Monday.
Ladu Philip Jembeke, Terekeka state information minister told Bakhita Radio by phone that there has been no incident of cattle raiding in the area since the start of 2018.
A section of online media outlets reported on Monday that some 22 people were killed and several others injured during a cattle raid in Terekeka.
Violent cattle raids among communities in Terekeka and neighboring states had previously left dozens of people death and thousands of animals lost.
A recent peace deal signed by five states has eased tension.
