UNMISS Chief David Shearer during the international women’s day in Juba says it is time to take action in changing female’s lives in the country.
 
He acknowledges the contribution of women and girls to their communities and the country, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
Women and girls in the rural areas of South Sudan have suffered so much from the conflict, Shearer explains.

The First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai expresses that his government is committed to women’s empowerment in the country.
 
UN says women should be fully recognized as having active and critical roles as peace builders, politicians, community leaders and activists.
 
The agency says women should be actively involved in all peace resolution and reconstruction processes.
