Civil Society to meet head of UNMISS over alleged sexual abuse in Wau

The Acting Chairperson of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance says they will meet the UN Special representative in South Sudan over alleged sexual abuse in Wau.
 
Sheikh Vitale Aligo Samson, told Journalists on Wednesday in Juba that there some are serious violations of human rights in the UN camps which have not been heard about, Bakhita Radio reports.
 
He calls on the UNMISS to investigate the sexual abuse allegedly committed by its police officers before repatriating the offender back to their country.
 
Aligo says civil society need to participate in the process of renewing UNMISS’ mandate to stop abuses committing by its officers in the camp.
 
Late last month, UNMISS says it has received a complaint from women, alleging that the UN police are engaged in sexual activity with displaced women.
