The Coordinator for Caritas Torit Peace and Justice is urging authorities to sympathize with those whose rights have been violated, by protecting them and taking action against perpetrators.
Father John Opi Severino calls on the citizens to be agents of transformation in their localities and report all forms of human rights violations to the concerned authorities, Emmanuel Radio reports.
The Coordinator stresses that it is a collective responsibility of all citizens at all level, to protect and respect human rights.
Fr Opi expresses Caritas’ commitment, to work closely with partners, in ensuring that peace, harmony, tranquility and respect to human rights are realized.
The Peace and Justice Coordinator made the statement during the opening of two days workshop on Thursday, on Human rights education and gender base transformation in Torit.
The workshop was organized by Caritas Torit Peace and Justice Department which brought together youth, religious groups, women, organized forces and government officials.
