SPLA-IO Forces loyal to Taban Deng Gai inhabiting Majii Primary School in Magwi County of Imotong State have moved five miles away from the institute, senior commander confirms.
Major General Okot David told the media at state secretariat that there are currently no forces’ occupying Majii School premises.
He however declines to tell the number of forces for security safety.
Major General David says the forces did not move far due to lack of mobility which he believes will hinder civilians’ protection.
We accepted to move our forces to give children a chance to learn, senior officer notes.
David calls on the local population to return home to join their families.
Mean while Ochola Bosco, Commissioner of Magwi County Imotong State appreciates the forces for their quick respond to the call of community.
He appeals to state and county authorities to work with the host community in improving the education system in the area to cop up with outside schools.
Commissioner Bosco urges parents to send their children to school, assuring citizens of safety and protection.
Majii Primary School was inhabited by IO forces since June last year.
