The Diocese of El-Obied schools in the Nuba Mountains have finally opened despite fears earlier that most of the Church’s institutions in the region may not operate.

Saint Joseph Secondary school of St Peter and Paul parish opened officially on 19 February. Voice of Peace Radio reports.

Kocholo Sebit, the Deputy Principal of the school says the school has resumed with the big turn up from students who have already been enrolled.

Sebit reveals that this year there has been a huge demand on Church’ schools and one hundred and sixty students have so far been register in senior one.

He notes that many of the former students have not reported because of reports that Form Three and Form Four were not going to operate.

He says they are facing some challenges with the new admission given the fact that parents keep on bringing more for registration.

He adds that there are inadequate facilities for all the students.

He appreciates that the school has considerable number of teachers who are ready to help students this term.
