Caritas Torit, the social wing of the Catholic Diocese of Torit, has distributed non food items to vulnerable groups in Torit on Monday.
Lachire Anthony the head of emergency for Caritas Torit says they have distributed tents, mats; Jeri cans among other to elders and disables who were badly affected by last year’s flood. Emmanuel Radio reports.
Anthony says, the distribution is overdue as the organization was still waiting for donors to offer their support.
Anthony assures the diocese will continue supporting the needy within their areas and capacity.
Sabiyaje Joshua Wani is a beneficiary who received the items on behalf of his father. Joshua expresses happiness saying it will help his aged father.
Joshua says although he receives non edible items, food still remains a challenge to the family.
He calls on nongovernmental organizations to support communities in the ongoing economic crisis.
