Hundreds of believers of Saint Peter and Paul parish in the Catholic Diocese of El-Obied in the Nuba Mountains has attended the Ash Wednesday this week to begin the Lent season.
Fr Deogratius Minja describes the lent season as time of Salvation. Voice of Peace Radio reports.
Throughout the history, he says, God continue to call on his people to repent and ask for forgiveness of their sins.
Fr Minja urges on the faithful to make use of the season and reflect on their inner self and build strong relationship with God.
He advises Christians to continue praying to God in heaven to strengthen their faith and continue doing good deeds towards the needy.
The priest explains that Lent is the time to reduce some negative habits that have developed in life during the past period.
He urges Christians to prepare and reflect on the greatest mystery of faith, the resurrection of Lord Jesus Chirst.
