The parties to the High Level Revitalization Forum for South Sudan are starting discussing the contentious issue of power sharing on Friday, says Government spokesperson.

Michael Makuei Lueth says the security arrangements committee is progressing well and will to report to the general plenary on Friday.

He says is the issues are not completed and the mediators will decide either to extend the time or give a break for delegates to resume on date they will fix.

Makuei confirms that IGAD distributed draft proposal on power sharing for the parties to read and react accordingly.

The document gave the government and all its parties inside 51 percent while nine opposition groups are given 49 percent.

The spokesperson says the plenary passed articles three, twelve and sixteen and will continue with other items in Chapter One of the agreement.

He expresses optimism that the parties will reach peace soon.

IGAD will today tell the participants either to go for break or get more days because many articles in the two chapters are not completed, according to a reliable source.

The source says one of the contentious issues untouched is the case of two armies under the security arrangement.
