The Governor of Tonj state has on Monday confirmed that the communal conflict in Tonj East County between Thiik and Jal Wau communities has ended and the security situation in the area is now calm.

Last week there was a report of a revenge attack between the same communities and three people were shot death and four others injured.
In the first fighting in Tonj East County at least 45 people were confirmed killed and 57 injured between the two communities.
Governor Aleu notes that the revenge attack will only leads to more lose of lives and destruction which do not help the area.
Aleu confirmed that they have deployed organized forces in the area to protect life and the property of the people.
