The leaders of South Sudan Council of Churches or SSCC call on the warring parties not to waste the last chance for peace in the country.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba while reading SSCC message entitled: ‘Divine warning’, says Church leaders will continue to remind political and conflicting parties to place South Sudanese people first.

Make violators of the signed ceasefire accountable and avoid empty blames, the leaders appeal to IGAD and AU.

Archbishop Lukudu says the church leaders want the political heads to talk and meet the needs of the people.

Let not pride, greed and struggle for political power become greater than the need for peace and reconciliation in South Sudan, the leaders note in their message.

They appeal to the conflicting parties not to negotiate for positions while fighting and killings are ongoing.

Archbishop Lukudu was presenting the message of church leaders to the High Level Revitalization Forum for South Sudan on Tuesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
