Canadian Ambassador meets religious leaders in Yei

The Canadian Ambassador to South Sudan on Tuesday met religious leaders in Yei to learn about the mission and expectation of the leaders on UNMISS in the area.
 
During the meeting, Ambassador Alan Hamson, describes the visit as a very useful opportunity to know the protection of civilians in Yei, Radio Easter reports.
 
Religious leaders are the voices of the people that Canada is connecting with them.
 
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe said that the arrival of the UNMISS to Yei is very timely that they will be witnesses to the cessation of the Hostilities as one of their mandates is to protect civilians
 
He says UNMISS will enable the humanitarian agencies to deliver assistance to the people in the rural areas
 
The speakers made the comments at the Diocesan secretariat on Tuesday.
