UNMISS launches rehabilitation of Torit B Court

UN Mission in Torit has launched the rehabilitation of Torit B Court and the construction of WATSAN facilities at police special protection unit on Friday.
 
The three month scheme is part of UNMISS quick impact project implemented by Moonlight Development Organization, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
The project aims at strengthening the rule of law.
 
Gabriel Balasio, Executive Officer for Moonlight Development Organization, assures citizens of their commitment to accomplish the mandate of the project as planned.
 
Mathew Oduma Ofoto, Head Chief of Torit Municipal Council comments that his complain has been answered after several calls.
 
He appreciates partners for supporting the rule of law in the area.
 
UNMISS Acting Head of Torit field officer, Beshir Alegel says the mission supports and strengthens rule of law, infrastructure and operations where feasible.
 
He recalls that UNMISS has funded and completed 12 quick impact projects in Eastern Equatoria between 2012 and 2017.
 
He expresses UNMISS commitment to continue supporting the government and the communities in protecting them and working to realize peace in the region.
 
This is the third time Torit B Court is being rehabilitated since its construction in 1946.
