The National Dialogue Secretariat in collaboration with local media houses is expected to hold high level forum on freedom of expression on Thursday in Juba.
The forum is under the theme: ‘Fostering freedom of expression and access to information to create conducive environment for national dialogue and peace building’.
The roundtable conference is to create enabling atmosphere for a credible and successful national discussion.
It is also to promote rights to freedom of expression, access to information and fully engage South Sudan communities in peace building, reconciliation and dialogue.
There will be two panel discussions to assess the state of freedom of expression and media in peace building.
The panelists will discuss the importance of access to information and safety for all stakeholders during the national dialogue process.
Co-Chair of the National Dialogue, Angelo Beda will open the forum that is supported by UNESCO, UNDP and Japanese government.
Chairperson of Information Committee in National Assembly, Paul Yoane Bonju, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Justin Alier de Mayen are among dignitaries expected to address the occasion.
