Power greed is the cause of the ongoing conflict in South Sudan, says Secretary-General of Inter-faith Council for Peace Initiative in Western Equatoria.

Radio Anisa quoted Reverend Elinama Jacob Bisi saying people do not have love for others that is why there is too much bloodshed in the country.

He calls on political leaders to stick to the revitalization process and cessation of hostilities agreement signed on December 21 to bring sustainable peace in the country.

Pastor Bisi adds that South Sudan is having a lot of resources enough to reduce poverty affecting the civil population.

The pastor regrets to see how South Sudanese are killing their own people who could be leaders in the future.

Guns will not resolve the conflict in the country only negotiation can, Reverend Bisi believes.

He says Churches in South Sudan appeal for immediate durable peace to rescue lives of citizens.
