The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei says people of South Sudan are killing themselves because of the bitterness in their hearts.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe notes that ethnic violence is high because people are harsh with each other, Radio Easter reports.

Citizens have to spit out that bitterness to please God because He always forgives, he advises.

Bishop Lodu says if people sincerely acknowledge their mistakes God will pardon them.

Bishop Lodu was giving his New Year message on Thursday.
