The Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan has expressed grave concern over six aid workers who went missing in Western Bahr el Ghazal region on 17 of this month.

Alain Noudéhou in a statement says the six workers, including one international and five national staff went missing when they were travelling on Raja-Wau road.

There were reports of armed clashes at the time of the incident.

The aid agencies were implementing food security, livelihoods, health, and nutrition interventions.

The Humanitarian Coordinator calls for the swift and safe return of the missing aid workers.

He also urges all parties to respect the neutrality of humanitarian operations and facilitate safe and unhindered access to vulnerable people in the country.
