No threats to civil population during Christmas, says government

There will be no threats to people during Christmas and New Year seasons, Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement in Gbudue State assures the public.
 
Jackson Ezekiel Bugua, says some precautions have been put in place to ensure people’s safety, Radio Anisa reports.
 
The government has instructed commanders of the joint forces and patrolling team to protect civilians and their property during and after the festive seasons.
 
He calls on traffic police to regulate movements of pedestrians, Boda-boda riders and drivers during the celebrations.
 
Angelina Gisto, Police Warrant Officer in Yambio, expresses willingness to work faithfully to make sure the civil population celebrates peacefully.
 
She says police will prohibit theft cases and other crimes in the area.
 
Due to the previous insecurity for the past two years Christmas and New Year celebrations were interrupted with uncertainties.
 
Commanders of the organized forces on Tuesday assembled at Police headquarters in Yambio to dispatch their soldiers as measures for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
