Preparations for the eighth youth congress of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek start at Holy Family Cathedral on Wednesday.
The youth congress is under the theme: ‘So that they may be one as we are one’, Radio Good News reports.
Diocesan Administrator, Monsignor John Mathiang Machol, describes the congress as a time for fulfilling pastoral needs of young people through evangelization.
Monsignor Mathiang says the theme urges Church to lead in uniting the people of South Sudan through faith to embrace harmony among people of God.
He says this year’s youth congress was supposed to take place in Cuiebet, but fail due to insecurity in Gok State.
Other parishes from Cuiebet, Tonj and Warrap did not turn up as a result of fear of insecurity.
The Youth Congress will be concluded on Sunday with ordination of two deacons in to priesthood.
The two deacons got their deaconates last year.
