Women hold silently peace procession in Juba

The women of South Sudan on Saturday marched silently for peace to prevail in the country.
 
The procession was under the theme: ‘Women of South Sudan want peace now’.
 
Ann Lino Abyei, Acting Chairperson of Women Parliamentarian Caucus says their participation is in opposition to violence against women and the destructive war.
 
She calls on the political leaders to stop war now and think about the suffering of the people especially women and children.
 
Riya William Yuyada, participant from the silent march, calls for peace because women and girls are tired of killings, mourning and do not see an end to war.
 
She stresses inclusion women in to the revitalization forum and be on the negotiation table because they are peace builders.
 
Suzi William from National Women Lawyers Alliance says females have no access to law and establishment justice has lost its meaning.
 
The speakers were talking during their silent march marking 16 days of activism in Juba on Saturday.
