The prime mission of priests is to preach the good news of Jesus Christ and administer sacraments to Christians, says Episcopal Vicar for the Clergy and Religious in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio.
Fr Thomas Bagbiowia says priests will go to all parishes to preach God’s message and bring hope, love among communities and encourage them spiritually during Christmas, Radio Anisa reports.
He appeals to Christians and the Parish Pastoral Councils to support and take care of priests in their parishes.
The Vicar reveals that all priests will go to parishes on December 20 to work together and stay with the faithful until December 27 and some will continue until January 2, 2018.
Priests are fulfilling the Gospel of St Mathew which says ‘Go to the whole world, proclaim the good news and baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit’, Fr Bagbiowia explains.
