A Catholic Priest in the Diocese of Torit is urging leaders to protect their communities to gain the love of their own people.
Fr Noel Ugwagu says good leaders are custodians of communities and their property, Radio Emmanuel reports.
He says it is a pity that a number of African leaders are only interested in gaining wealth instead of rendering protection and development.
Fr Ugwagu reiterates the need for leaders in South Sudan to create conducive environment for peaceful coexistence among people.
The priest urges the leaders and security personnel to look for peaceful means of handling their people rather than creating fear in them.
The Parish Priest was preaching at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Torit on Sunday.
