A veterinary officer for Rural Development Organization, RDO in the former Eastern Equatorial state is calling on dog owners to take for both treatment and vaccination.
Tom Mukana, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer says; their project is giving free vaccinations and treatment for all domestic animals but is targeting dogs from 21st to the 28th of this month, Radio Emmanuel reports.
He says they have vaccinated more than 20 dogs and their target is to reach 200 dogs in Torit County and Magwi then 100 in Lofon County without any payment.
Certificates are issued to dog’s owners after vaccination against rabies to free anyone from police in case a vaccinated dog bites someone.
Abraham Omot is a resident of Hai Malakia who owns a dog; he says his dog has some swellings on the body so he brought it to get treatment and vaccination.
Omot advises those who own dogs to also take them for vaccination.
Rural Development Organization is a national organization currently offering veterinary services in the former Eastern Equatorial state with support from UN FAO.
