More than (30) participants are receiving training on transitional justice in Torit Imotong state, under the theme, ‘Grassroots’ awareness raising and sensitization on understanding of transitional justice’.
The training was organized by South Sudan women empowering network with support from transitional justice working group, Emmanuel Radio reports.
It draws participants from women organization, civil society including government officials in the state.
Edwina Amou Andrew is the program officer for transitional justice. He says it is important for South Sudanese to understand the content of chapter five of the peace agreement that talk of transitional justice.
Amou believes educating the people on transitional justice will bring lasting peace in South Sudan.
According to the program officer, the participants will be well equipped with knowledge to educate others on transitional justice at the grassroots level.
The speaker made the remarks during the first day of the workshop on transitional justice on Thursdays in Torit.
