The Community Initiative for Development Organization or CIDO is training nearly thirty women paralegals on access to justice for all in Torit Imotong State.
Vicky Kojo Michael Towe, CIDO Assistant Project Officer, says the training aims at empowering women with basic legal skills.
Having legal skills will help women address cases of gender-based violence in their localities, she adds.
Kojo says her organization is working hard to minimize human rights violations in the country.
Lucia Juvanii, UNDP representative in Torit, calls on participants to pay attention so as to achieve positive impacts.
She urges governmental and non-governmental organizations to recognize women in all legal institutions as stipulated in the Local Government Act 2009.
The UNDP representative urges citizens to respect and protect women rights who are victims of gender-based violence.
The speakers made the remarks during the four-day training workshop on access to justice for all in Torit.
