A South Sudanese woman in Juba town says there is a need for the government and well wishers to rescue lives of street children before they grow wild.

In an exclusive interview with Catholic Radio Network on Saturday, a woman who identifies herself only as Mama Zalzal says numbers of street children are on increase in Juba town and there is need for them to be rescued.

Zalzal now takes care of twelve street kids ranging between five to13 at Jubek state Ministry of Social Welfare in Juba and provide them with food, medicine and shelter.

She says there is need for well wishers to rescue street children from growing wild.

Some of the street children came as far as Kapoeta state because of no proper care from their parents. Meanwhile, others lost their parents during the recent fighting.

Mama Zalzal says with the support of St. Franciscan fathers of the Catholic Church they are planning to provide these kids with education.

She called on well wishers to donate whatever they have to help them provide basic services to the street kids.

Mama Zalzal stresses that by staying in the market places these kids are learning bad habits which might harm the community in the long or near future.
