Women leaders discuss peace and security issues in Imotong State

Women leaders in Torit of Imotong discussed the situation of security, access to justice and special programs for supporting females in the state.
 
The one-day round table discussion organized by EVE organization was to identify challenges facing females and get solutions, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Idwa Dominika, Imotong State Director for Gender and Social Welfare says economic conditions have made women’s lives miserable.
 
She reveals that there are many unreported rape cases in the state.
 
Otililing James, Imotong State Youth Union President criticizes the cultural practices that do not value women.
 
He says women are treated like properties in many communities.
 
The officials were talking during the round table discussion on women security in Torit over the weekend.
