Rule Development Action Aid organization launched three months training for youth, women and ex-combatants of South Sudan National Liberation and SPLA-IO who joined the government as agents of peace and reconciliation in Yambio County of Gbudue State.
The aim of the training was to empower them with vocational and farming skills, Radio Anisa reports.
Emmanuel Wanga, Acting Executive Director of the organization, says the training will help the ex-combatants to become pro-active in the community and contribute to reinstatement of the state economy.
He appeals to the government to make the integrations of forces soon so that they can see how the civil society organizations can intervene and support them.
Tombe Louis Lodu, UNDP representative, urges the youth to transform the skills they are going to get into action.
He advises them to give equal considerations also to women in every program.
Louis promises that UNDP will continue to support peace and development in Gbudue State.
Gbudue State Deputy Governor, Grace Datiro, appreciates the organization for its wise decision to support youth and women in Yambio.
She expresses the commitment of the state government to peace.
The three months training founded by UNDP, targets 80 beneficiaries.
After the training the participants will be given some capital to start their livelihood program.
