The Mayor of Tonj on Monday issued an order banning movement and keeping of animals in the town.

Joseph Anei Madoor urges the pastoralists to take their cattle to the outskirts of the town, Radio Don Bosco reports.

The shifting of livestock away from the main town is one of the implementation of by-laws signed last week, he adds.

Mayor says anyone who fails to follow the laws should be fined not less than five-thousand South Sudanese Pounds.

He advises the community to cooperate with authorities and respect the order to run the town smoothly.

The official made the remarks on Monday during the interview with Radio Don Bosco.
