Juba residents are appealing to the traffic police officers to give people enough time before they could change to the newly proposed SSD driving license.
They complain that the timeframe given is too short and so abrupt.
Driver Jaffary Razig laments that a traffic police officer took away his Central Equatoria driving license which he obtained last month at four thousand South Sudanese Pounds. And he was told to get a new SSD license.
Razig urges the police to allow people to use the old driving permit until it is expired.
Modi Enosa Mbaraza is another citizen whose old license is still valid but she was told to obtain the new permit.
She says stopping people on the way while driving affects their office work. Enosa complains that there was no clear awareness or notice given by the authority about the new changes.
Jame David Kolok, Civil Society activist calls on the government to ensure that there is public information passed before making any changes in the country.
Daniel Justine, Police Spokesperson claims that people were told to renew their license earlier.
He calls on everybody who is charged by any policeman without getting a receipt to report to the concerned authorities.
It is unclear if the process will also include states.
