Information Commission calls on public institutions not to deny information

The Information Commission is calling on the public institutions and other officials in charge of information not to hold or deny any information that of public consumption.
 
Nicodemus Ajak Bior advises the officials to give and allow access to information to people because they could contribute to the development of the country.
 
Rajab Muhandis, Executive Director for SSuNDEE says denying access to information is the violation of the South Sudan Access to Information Act 2013.
 
He calls on officials to read and understand the 2013 information Act so as to help them carry out their work effectively.
 
The officials spoke during a workshop to familiarize Public Information officers, media personnel and civil society members on the South Sudan Access to Information Act 2013.
 
It was organized ahead of the International Day for Universal Access to Information which will take place on Thursday 28, September 2017.
