Bishop Paride receives peace award during International Peace Day in Juba

The Emeritus Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit has today Thursday received a peace award from the African Union, during the International Peace Day at All Saints Cathedral in Juba.
 
Bishop Paride Taban says he accepts the award and appreciates the African Union for its recognition. He calls on South Sudanese to work for peace and maintain at all levels.
 
Ambassador Mussie Hailu is the Regional Director of United Religious Initiative, URI for Africa. While presenting the award he describes the Bishop as a living example.
 
The award is recognition of Taban’s tireless work for peace in South Sudan, Hailu adds.
 
He appeals to the government to resolve the conflict peacefully so that the children, women and the old people will enjoy a peaceful life with dignity.
 
Archbishop Paulino Lukudu of the Catholic Arch-diocese of Juba calls on South Sudanese to reunite and run after peace.
 
The religious leaders were speaking during a prayer service marking the International Peace day in Juba, at All Saints Cathedral.
