Illiteracy rate in South Sudan is a challenge that the country will face among IGAD’s because few people are educated, says Director for African Union and IGAD.
David Buom Choat says only thirty percent of literate South Sudanese will be the only portion engaging in IGAD nations.
He was remarking during the national consultative meeting on the IGAD protocol on the free movement of persons in the region.
Government representatives, civil society, private sector and academia are consulting on the IGAD’s initiative, says Ambassador Abdurahim Ahmed Khalil, Acting Head of IGAD Liaison Officer.
The Ambassador says IGAD protocol will benefit the people to move freely from one country to another and engage in other activities in the region.
A regional consultative meeting is also expected to bring all the observations and recommendations from the national units to adopt the final draft of the agreement.
