CEPO Lakes welcomes opening free legal aid centres

Staff of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO in Lakes region welcomed opening of free legal centres to help vulnerable people who cannot afford to hire lawyers to defend them in court.
 
The note Radio Good News saw on Wednesday states that opening of the centres in Torit, Wau, Yambio, Terekeka, Yei and Juba among others came at the right time.
 
People are in difficult situation because many of them countrywide lack free lawful representation and legal advices due to their vulnerability in the society, the statement adds.
 
The personnel also say the initiative will help vulnerable sectors of the society to have possible assistance to access equal justice with others.
 
The note praises CEPO Executive Director Edmond Yakani for achieving the long awaited plan in the country.
 
We are calling upon citizens of South Sudan to utilize the centres in order to benefit from legal service that are being offered free of charge, they add.
 
CEPO head office launched the program of establishing eight free legal centres last week in Juba.
