Malakal stations have been without fuel for the last six days.

The fuel shortage is blamed on supplies’ disruption from Khartoum, Voice of Love reported.

Power supplies were disrupted and only Central Malakal gets some electricity in the evening.

With stations dried up, customers have to resort to the black market in order to get the fuel they need.

Prices went almost 30 percent up with a drum of diesel costing more 90 Sudanese pounds.

Fuel stations’ managers say supplies are on the way.

Traders and other people are ordering their own supplies via boat from El Obeid.

Meanwhile, food prices have also registered a big increase in the last weeks.

Due to the holiday, it was not possible to register the position of Malakal authorities on the shortage of fuel and increase of prices.
