Rural Development Action Aid in Yambio of Gbudue State distributes piglets to vulnerable people for sustainability.

Emmanuel Wanga, Program Coordinator for the Aid says the distribution targets farmers and other groups like HIV/AIDS patients, orphans, widows and people with disabilities to promote animal rearing activities, Radio Anisa reports.

He says the beneficiaries are given rules and regulations to abide by before they get animals.

The one of the regulation in agreement requires the beneficiaries to have fence where they keep the piglets and other necessary needs.

Wanga calls on the communities to boost their economic situation and not to use the animals to create conflict among them.

He warns the beneficiaries against leaving the pigs to move randomly in the residential areas to destroy people’s crops.

Rural Development Action Aid is empowering farmers in Gbudue and Tombura States in building their capacity in various agricultural activities.
