Members of El-Sabrin Association or HIV/AIDS patients in Wau town have received food items including sorghum, beans, salt and flour.

The food distribution was delayed due to logistic problem from World Food Program, or WFP, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

Some members of El Sabrin appreciate WFP for giving them food at this critical time when some members have lost their lives.

One of the patients thanks the Association for supporting him after he lost his spouse to the disease.

HIV/AIDS patients were living in bad condition and they were depending only on little food before food distributions, he points out.

Carmela Arkangelo, Chairperson of El- Sabrin Association, explains that food distribution stopped for three months without WFP giving them any reason.

Recently some HIV/AIDS patients refused to take medicines and about 12 of them died without knowing the numbers of patients outside the town.

They refused medication because World Food Program stopped distributing food to them in the last three months.
