Embrace peace, forgiveness and reconciliation, a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kinshasa in DR Congo appeals to South Sudanese.

Fr Franco Berapai while preaching in Yambio says talking about peace should involve pardoning and compromise, Radio Anisa reports.

He adds that forgiveness is the only medicine to cure the person who has been wounded physical and psychologically.

‘When you forgive it means you have accept your mistakes against one another’, Fr Berapai clarifies.

The priest explains that people who have hatred against their brothers and sisters means they do not have peace in their hearts.

He quoted St Augustine saying ‘if you are not able to forgive your brother that means you cannot say the prayer of Our Father until the end’.

Fr Berapai calls on citizens of South Sudan to learn how to forgive and forget.

The speaker was among the six priests and one deacon ordained by Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro on September 13, 2014 in Yambio
