Maridi Mayor is calling on citizens to double their efforts in agricultural activities to fight hunger in the state particularly and South Sudan at large.

Daniel Udada Ngbandi says people of his Municipality have given their effort to grow variety of crops, Radio Anisa reports.

He calls on citizens of Western Equatoria region to continue with their efforts of being producers in the country through agriculture.

Let the division of states in Western Equatoria region not bring separation between citizens, but hold the spirit of togetherness and love, the Mayor stresses.

Udada cites challenges of importing some commodities into the Municipality as one of the difficulties due to poor roads and insecurity.

Traders find it difficult in Maridi State to carry out their business effectively as they go to Congo and Uganda via Yambio to import goods, he explains.

The mayor calls on people to work hard to achieve peace in their families, villages, states and the country at large.

The Mayor was responding to Radio Anisa telephone call from Maridi State on Wednesday.
