Young Women Christian Association calls on the civil society organizations to have one strong voice to achieve peace in the country.
The call came during the monthly meeting of the Association and the organizations in Yambio, Gbudue State, Radio Anisa reports.
Eliaba Moses who opened the forum on behalf of the Acting Director urges all civil society in the state to work as team.
He adds that unity is very important because the agencies can advocate on behalf of communities.
Benjamin Ibako Gabriel, Trainer at Organization Development Consultancy Agency South Sudan says they aim to empower civil society in project proposal writing.
Other areas are project management, management strategy and education on human rights and peace building through conflict prevention, he explains.
Buku Mathew, one of the participants, urges the civil society to lobby for funds for sustainability of the forum and mutual relationship among government, civil society and communities.
He adds that it is the role of the CSOs to follow the government’s promises to citizens.
Mathew calls on civil society organizations to be committed to their work because they speak on behalf of the population.
